78th Golden Globes Betting Odds Preview: Schitt’s Creek Rises Again

The Cast Of Schitt's Creek and their 78th Golden Globes Betting Odds

The nominees for the 78th Annual Golden Globes have been revealed and now, the best entertainment sportsbook sites in the USA have followed up on that announcement by producing betting lines for nearly every category.

NBC will be broadcasting the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, February 28th at 8:00 PM.

Red carpet coverage for the 2021 Golden Globes will begin at 6:00 PM on E! and will be picked up by NBC starting at 7:00 PM.

After sweeping the 2020 Emmy Awards for comedy, Schitt’s Creek and their stellar cast is nominated for five Golden Globes, and are the favored option in four of those categories at major online sportsbooks.

MyBookie has posted the following Golden Globes betting lines, but not all categories have active odds placed on them.

Best Television Series (Comedy)

  • Schitt’s Creek -200
  • Ted Lasso +200
  • The Great +600
  • The Flight Attendant +900
  • Emily in Paris +1500

Best Actress In A TV Series (Musical/Comedy)

  • Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek) -250
  • Kaley Cuoco (The Flight Attendant) +400
  • Jane Levy (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) +500
  • Elle Fanning (The Great) +600
  • Lily Collins (Emily in Paris) +800

Best Actor In A TV Series (Musical/Comedy)

  • Eugene Levy (Schitt’s Creek) -110
  • Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) +105
  • Ramy Youssef (Ramy) +500
  • Don Cheadle (Black Monday) +1000
  • Nicholas Hoult (The Great) +1200

As can be seen in the above entertainment betting lines, Schitt’s Creek cast members Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara are projected to win for best actor and actress, and the show is favored to win best comedy television series.

Daniel Levy and Annie Murphy are also nominated for best supporting actor and actress in a series, limited series, or motion picture made for television, but for some reason, bookmakers have decided to remove those odds from the boards.

Early betting odds for the Golden Globes included Daniel Levy with a -220 money line to win, with John Boyega of Small Axe the second most likely winner at +310.

Annie Murphy features the second-highest odds to win the Golden Globe for best performance by an actress in a supporting role in a series with a +450 money line, but Gillian Anderson of The Crown is in a commanding lead with -260.

If Murphy can join her Schitt’s Creek castmates and sweep the 78th Annual Golden Globes, each $1 bet on her to win can earn $4.50.

If entertainment bettors are watching the Golden Globes and sense a sweep coming for Schitt’s Creek, it won’t be too late to get in on the action.

Entertainment odds can be wagered upon with your smartphone using the latest mobile sportsbook apps.

iPhones, iPads, and other popular hand-held devices can access live betting lines for the Golden Globes that will allow patrons to lay some action on Murphy or any other Schitt’s Creek cast member before the show is over.

One thing to keep in mind for betting on the Golden Globes or any other award show this season is that the favorites typically win. Underdog money line odds are profitable when they payout, but we advise mostly betting on award show favorites to hedge your bankroll.
