Nonetheless, it would be difficult to design a new and unique plot within the context of the games. We, the audience, already know how the games work and why they’re played. It wouldn’t be as thrilling to watch twice.
Unfortunately, the continuation of this saga will not be available to the public until 2024 or even later. Production of the show’s first season, alone, took Netflix almost two years to complete. Given that Season 2 has yet to be written, the timeline provided makes sense.
However, Netflix might be inclined to take a gamble on expediting the production. After having lost 200,000 subscribers over the year’s first quarter, the brand will have to pull out all the stops to remain afloat.
