Week 3 XFL Betting: Defenders, Battlehawks, And Roughnecks Start 2-0

XFL Week 3

It snuck up on us, but the 2023 XFL season is entering its third week of play. Television ratings are low, and reviews have been mixed. Is the XFL a pro football league that can last?

The DC Defenders, St. Louis Battlehawks, and Houston Roughnecks are the league’s only remaining undefeated teams at 2-0. Both the Battlehawks and Defenders play in Week 3, ensuring that a maximum of two franchises will have an unblemished record this time next Monday.

Game lines for betting on the XFL have been slow to debut this week, with BetUS posting the earliest odds for Saturday and Sunday’s contests.

Saturday’s only game begins at 7:00 pm, where the visiting Seattle Sea Dragons are favored to beat the Vegas Vipers by 2.5 points.

Seattle Sea Dragons @ Vegas Vipers

  • Seattle Point Spread: -2.5
  • Vipers Point Spread: +2.5
  • Over/Under: 37.0

Both the Vipers and Sea Dragons are 0-2 and at risk of falling into the XFL’s basement at this early juncture of the 2023 season.

Sunday features a triple-header beginning at 1:00 pm. The Defenders have the early edge by 2 points, suggesting they’ll survive the Battlehawks and climb to 3-0.

St Louis Battlehawks @ DC Defenders

  • Battlehawks Point Spread: +2.0
  • Defenders Point Spread: -2.0
  • Over/Under: 38.5

The best online sportsbooks in the USA have been hesitant to offer moneyline odds for betting on the XFL team that will win each game.

For the first two weeks of the season, moneyline odds emerged on Thursday or Friday at some online sportsbooks, but not all.

At 4:00 pm, the winless Orlando Guardians try to secure their first victory of the season against the Arlington Renegades.

Orlando Guardians @ Arlington Renegades

  • Orlando Point Spread: +8.5
  • Renegades Point Spread: -8.5
  • Over/Under: 37.0

Online football betting sites aren’t giving the Guardians much of a chance, as they are facing the largest XFL point spread deficit of the week at 8.5 points.

The Renegades, at 1-1, need the win to keep pace with the XFL South Division-leading Houston Roughnecks. Houston is favored to go 3-0 by beating the San Antonio Brahmas at 8:00 PM on Sunday.

San Antonio Brahmas @ Houston Roughnecks

  • Brahmas Point Spread: +4.0
  • Roughnecks Point Spread; -4.0
  • Over/Under: 39.0

It should come as no surprise that the three remaining undefeated teams are also the top three franchises featured in the following 2023 XFL Championship odds.

Odds To Win 2023 XFL Championship Game

  • DC Defenders +300
  • St Louis Battlehawks +350
  • Houston Roughnecks +350
  • Arlington Renegades +600
  • Vegas Vipers +700
  • San Antonio Brahmas +800
  • Seattle Sea Dragons +800
  • Orlando Guardians +1600

Starting with the Renegades, there seems to be a clear divide between the XFL elite and the remainder of the league. Wagers placed on the XFL futures for any team in the bottom have the potential to payout at between 6X and 16X.

The only bummer is winnings cannot be collected until after the XFL Championship Game on May 13th.
